Should School workers get hazard pay?

Yep! I drive school bus and sometimes I agree we need hazard pay, but I'm driving for a pretty good school The bunch of kids we have are (for the most part) pretty good kids. ADHD rules most of their lives, but I had one of my own and my one grandson is AD touched. I never put my kids on drugs, I just kept them busy. The trick is to stay one jump ahead of them; and that's not easy. LOL But I whomped my kids when they needed it too, and I didn't give a darn who approved of it. I didn't raise any deviets or murderers and they are all well adjusted individuals. And not one of them lives off society nor do they take drugs or are they alcoholics. So I didn't mess up on them too much. LOL
I don't care who the parents are....they all mess up raising their kids. Me included. We can all learn something and we all mess up. The trick is to not mess up too badly.
So when kids get too rowdy on my bus, I yell at them to knock it off. But I also explain to them that I wouldn't have to yell if they weren't so loud. I think I finally got my message across to this bus route load of kids. I'm known for giving the kids something when I'm pleased with them. And I don't give out junk. Since we were told we couldn't give out any sort of sugars or nuts, cookies etc. I switched to McDonald coupons. It darn near breaks me to do it. 35 kids @ 1.00 each is still 35.00. I then went to I copied a game onto disks and handed each kid a game for Summer break last year. This year with the new rowdy bunch I told them I was putting 10.00 back for a drawing for the last day of school and we'd draw the name of the winner the last day on the bus ride home. Some lucky winner would have won 10.00 to start the Summer with. But the catch is, they have to behave themselves or their name won't go in the hat.
Any write ups are automatic, no name in the hat.
I will give 3 warnings before a write up.
They can bring gameboys and other stuff to keep themselves occupied if they think they need it to be good and not bother others.
Still no food and drinks open on the bus unless they use the trash can for their waste paper and other refuse; if I find any mess from their food or drink....they will scrub the inside of the bus.
Other than that. If they ride the bus once a day... they get their name in the hat once...if twice, 2 names in the hat. If they don't ride... no name in the hat. So those kids riding more often have to be good more than those that don't. (this was a suggestion from one of the boys I had trouble with at first). I told him thanks for the suggestion; that it was a good, valid piece of input.
Since then, I've been driving a whole different bunch of kids to and from school. Now they are all like the good kids I knew they were capable of being. I even had one high school boy ask me if I heard any of the rumors about him. I told him; I don't go by rumors; I go by how the person treats me. Lie to me once or give me cause to not trust you and then I won't believe anything you say or do. But be honest with me and treat me with respect and you'll get that in return.
He's become my defender and helper on the bus with the smaller ones (keeping them on the edge of the road out of harms way when the bus is stopping to pick them up).
Jeez, I've turned this into a book... LOLL

Sorry. Shoot, I'm going to copy this to my blog. Maybe someone else can get something from it. LOL
Take life easy my friends, and may God Bless you, and all those you love.

The comment from my friend Pat that prompted this posting:
*Then you must drive a school bus. You need combat pay! I have
a lot of admiration for bus drivers and the school cafeteria workers*
